LEEDS IMPRINT 2006

During and since my fine art degree, the female nude in its varying contexts has been central to my work. Personal versus public perception and narrative have flavoured my practice.

Tracey Emin is one of my main inspirers, I find the honesty and autobiographical edge to her work intrigues me.

Being a life model, a woman and an artist throws up many issues for me to explore and express. I like to utilise the cathartic properties of making work. Like a narrative, my work takes form as words and images, diaries and pictures. I work with a mixture of media, creating line and colour via drawing, painting and printing in an automatic, abstract manner often resulting in large scale figurative pieces.
