BEN ANSON: Personal Statement
Received BA in Fine Art from Falmouth School of Art, Cornwall
in 1972. Continued to practise over the years – but
never made a living from it. Recently undertook a postgraduate
course in printmaking at Bradford College.
My work is mainly abstract, but I’m easily corrupted.
Modern, not post-modern. A knowledge of what has gone before
and trying to forget it – but hoping I have assimilated
it. More perceptual than conceptual. Taking it seriously
but not too seriously: I am not willing to die for my art.
